In the early spring by the pond, the trees are still bare from winter, the grass still a sort of khaki-olive drab color as the ground begins to thaw. The air is still chilled but the days begin to get longer and the sun begins to warm things up.

A drive down the Merritt Parkway in Stamford, Connecticut will be filled with sunlight as the grasses begin to green and the trees begin to bud.

A walk through Waveny Park in New Canaan, Connecticut gives sweeping vistas of the ever changing landscape. The leaves on the trees unfurled with their new found beauty bask in the warming sun.

Springtime in the beginning of the gardening season one of my favorite times of year. A time for new growth and beginnings.
