Today’s FOWC with Fandango is ‘central’ and having grown up in New York City, I immediately saw Grand Central Terminal in my head. Many people mistakenly say Grand Central Station when referring to the actual Terminal. The difference is that the station is underground and part of the New York City subway system and GCS is simply a stop on the Lexington Avenue line which runs the 4,5,6, 7 and S lines [I double checked]. Whereas Grand Central Terminal is the southern end stop of the Metro-North Railroad’s Harlem, Hudson and New Haven Lines, which provide service for the northern parts of the New York metropolitan area.

Everytime I am at GCT I spend as much time as I can photographing the building, the people, the energy. The photo from which I worked In The Lion’s Den from was taken sometime after they had just cleaned and restored the building. It was amazing how the details, and there are many, revealed themselves. In particular, the celestial ceiling which had been coverd in decades of dirt and grime my entire youth, now shined like the heavens should.
